Officers

President—Barbara Thompson
Barbara is an SSI Dive Control Instructor with Adaptive Training specialty and co-founder of the foundation. When not teaching and diving, Barba ra is the Director of Business Development for Jacobs Engineering. Barbara leads fund raising efforts, liaise with the dive industry, maintains our records and recruits new students.
Vice President—Sophie Wimberley
Sophie is also a co-founder and a SSI Advanced Open Water Instructor with Adaptive Training specialty, as well as a DAN Instructor.  She is a Medical Science Liaison in Global Medical Affairs with Millennium Pharmaceuticals. Sophie instructs adaptive students, updates the website, participates in fund raising and plans travel.

Secretary - Hallie Byth
Hallie is a student, a master diver and has been diving for seven years. She is a SSI Adaptive Dive Buddy along with her father and sister who are also Dive Pirates. She attends Colorado School of Mines and plans to pursue a degree in Petroleum Engineering. 
Treasurer —Michael Nasr
Michael has been involved with Dive Pirates Foundation for the last two years and says he’s found it to be one of the most rewarding experiences of his life.  He has been a SCUBA diver for the last 8 years, and an Adaptive Dive Buddy for the last 2 years. With a financial background and currently working in the banking industry, Michael brings his expertise and passion to the foundation.

Dave Allen
Dave served in the Navy as a helicopter pilot and retired at the rank of Captain after a career of 29 years.  He served as Commanding Officer of several units to include Naval Station Guam where he began scuba diving.  Dave is an SSI Open Water Instructor and is qualified to teach several advanced specialties including the Adaptive Diver specialty.  Dave and his wife Linda live in Boerne, Texas.

Kurt Byth
Kurt has been diving since the 70's and is a SSI Adaptive Dive Buddy.  He has 2 daughters that started diving with Scuba Rangers and, they are all accomplished divers.  Kurt is an owner in PPI Technologies, a petroleum engineering consulting firm in Houston.  Kurt brings enthusiasm and a lot of other companies to each Pirate Ball.  
Kevin Conner
Kevin spent 9 years slumming and diving around the east coast of Florida, the Keys, and the Bahamas.  In his current day job, Kevin does business development for Jacobs, a large architecture/engineering/construction management firm.   After hours, he delights in teaching his wife and 2 daughters various bits of skullduggery and diving.  Kevin is committed to growing the San Antonio chapter for Dive Pirates.
Nettie Evans
Nettie has the distinction of being our first dive pirate and is a co-founder. "Naughty Nettie The Red" is a hardware store owner in Indiana, a PADI Divemaster & SSI Adaptive Dive Buddy. “I want to encourage new divers to join us without feeling physically impaired and enjoy the freedom of diving.“
Bob Evans
"Overboard" Bob Evans is a career Navy Mechanical Engineer, civilian. As a PADI Divemaster & SSI Adaptive Dive Buddy from Indiana, I hope to help spread the word of Dive Pirates to the eastern seaboard !
Jose Grinan
Jose, a SSI Adaptive Dive Buddy, has been an enthusiastic supporter of Dive Pirates since he first heard of us and began Emceeing our annual Pirates Ball in 2006. He has been the morning anchor on Fox 26 Houston for 15 years and is a prolific community supporter. He has been diving since 1985 and is veteran of the Army.
Mark Parker
Mark began his diving career 11 years ago, and today, he is an AOWI and Adaptive Instructor with SSI. His vision for the Dive Pirates Foundation is to spread the opportunity of diving to everyone interested in learning how to dive. When not traveling around the world on dive vacations, Mark owns and operates a contract manufacturing company in Houston.
Robin Reynolds
Robin started diving in 2002 with SSI certification and recently completed SSI Adaptive Buddy training. In 2011, she celebrated her 200th dive while in Utila with her daughters, Carly and Paige, who are also divers and Dive Pirates. When not diving or driving kids to lacrosse practice, Robin works at ExxonMobil in Houston.
Richard Wachowski
Richard lives in the Dallas area.  He has been diving for nearly 10 years and holds an SSI Adaptive Buddy dive rating. In addition to diving, he has a private pilot’s license and likes to take day trips to find excellent hamburgers. He currently works for Southwest Airlines and is enthusiastic about the future of Dive Pirates.
